Johnny Depp’s Sunglasses are the Most Unique in Hollywood

The actor typically pairs interesting shapes with tinted lenses.

Johnny Depp is famous for his unique style. A little more bohemian than your average Hollywood A-Lister, the actor experiments with looks, items, and pieces that others in his position don’t often try.

The same can be said for his eyewear. Johnny Depp’s sunglasses choices typically have a little extra flourish. A common feature of the glasses he wears is lightly tinted lenses in a variety of colors. You can often clearly see his eyes when he wears this style. He seems to especially favor blue-tinted lens like the aviators at the bottom of this list.

In this article, we’ll look at some of the times Johnny Depp wore great sunglasses, as well as show you where you can either buy the same or a similar style.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Sunglasses

Universal Pictures

In Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Depp goes all trippy with his sunglasses choice by choosing a pair of aviator-style glasses with a cryptic circle on the ridge and a pale yellow lens. They have a have a thick top-bar that helps them stand out. The frame is called Ray-Ban Shooter but unfortunately it seems like the film studio customized the glasses themselves as you can only buy the shades with regular green lenses. The Rum Diary Sunglasses

FilmDistrict

In the Rum Diary, Depp wore a pair of sunglasses with a distinctive v-shape ridge that is lower at the nose and higher at the temples. This gives them an almost alien-like look. The otherworldly design is enhanced by the way the lenses actually stretch out above the top bar. These are certainly a statement pair of shades. The glasses are by a brand called Renauld but they don’t appear to make sunglasses anymore, let alone that particular design. The most similar pair we could find is the Ray-Ban Olympian. These have a similar V shape but are lacking the lenses that extend above the ridge.

Dior Sauvage Commercial Sunglasses

Dior

In this 2015 Dior Commercial, Johnny Depp wore a pair of Wayfarer shape glasses. While it is a common shape, Depp adds a twist in the shape of the light blue lenses. Johnny Depp has been known to wear Moscott Lemtosh glasses and they appear to the same ones as in the commercial. These are a similar shape to the glasses in the featured image of this post. Randolph Aviators

Depp has been spotted many times in Randoph aviators. He often pairs them with suits or more formal tailoring while at industy events. While aviators are a pretty common style, Depp once again puts his own twist on things by choosing a pair with lightly tinted blue lens. Also, the particular style of Randolph Aviators he chooses have a square shape rather than a teardrop one. You can check out Randolph Aviators with blue lenses at the Amazon link below.
